universal 02 question

universal 02 question

i have the front 02 sensor, and would like to know what to do with the two white wires. there are a total of three, one black and two white, are both the white wires the same or do i have to figure out which one is which.

One of the wires is the actual signal wire. The other two wires are for the heater element in the sensor itself...it keeps it cleaner and extends it life. I can't tell you which wire is for signal. I would assume you should be able to measure some kind of resistance between the two heater wires and then resistance between the signal wires and metal case of the sensor....??....

Buying universal is a lot of screwing around when you can get a bosch replacement with an OEM connector on it for $60 from oxygensensors.com.

thanks. well i hooked it up exactly the way it came off the old one and so far so good. no codes yet, i have the bosch but not with oem and i paid 55 bucks.
