Passenger side mirror replacement

I was happily driving along today when, to my horror, the door of a parked explorer flew open and clipped my passenger side mirror. The mirror is still there and functioning but most of the plastic is gone. So my question for y'all is: how difficult is a mirror replacement, removing the door panel and such. Is this something that a newbie like me should attempt? or is it not worth it?
I'm sure that this question has been asked many a time, but alas I can't search the old threads.

Thanks much.
JR

Real easy. Just take off the door panel to get the black plastic piece off then take off 3 bolts and unplug the mirror and that is it.

Remove the "triangular" cover from the inside and it should have bolts or something holding the mirror in place and a wire harness that you have to unplug.

Here's a noodle baker for you...
what's the difference between Power Remote and Power side mirrors?
other than the price that is... which do I need?

hmmm, not sure, but i think all maxima mirrors are power side mirrors and only some have the heated option, but you can use a heated mirror even if you do not have a heat option, there would just be an extra wire you can tape up.

its very easy to replace mirror, just have to remove interior panel.
