New Pics of Max now lowered with Tein S-Techs/Illuminas

New Pics of the Max. Now it is lowered with Tein S-Techs instead of H&R springs. Also struts now are Tokico Illuminas instead of stock struts. Let me know your opinions. And I know the car isnt finished yet. It is a work in progress unless somebody wants to buy it off me with the right amount of money. lol

Looks hot. My favorite spring/strut combo. Also love that color maroon ... that's from the 350z isn't it?

BTW ... been to the track yet with that motor? I wish I could find someone locally to do that motor/tranny swap for me. I'd rather do that than FI.

A little OT: does the 6MT mate up to the VQ30 with minimal work?

isnt' it messing up the weight distribution since you have a heavier engine in there? or is the difference minimal?

maxmods.net says there is a possibility that u could hit the bumpstops in the front due to the low drop... has this happened to u at all or have u ever heard of this happening??? b/c if not i'm gonna go w/ the s-techs, the drop looks awesome!

Nice drop. Did you measure the drop before and after between the H&R and S-Tien?

I have hit the bumpstops in the front on mine. Doesn't happen all the time and in fact, I find it's at predictable places on certain roads. I can avoid it by slowing down at that particular place in the road.

At the same token, I know someone with Eibachs who hits the bumpstops at the same places I do in town ...

yea hthe color is called brickyard and it is from the 350z. it is no longer made.
for the bump stops, i cut them like it says 1/3 to 1/2 and havent hit them yet. is is very simple to do. if you want a bigger drop, go for s-techs. they are not stiff at all to me even with illuminas on setting #5.

i have pics of before and after drop. i could post those also.

More information is needed to know if they bottom out a lot due to their softer spring rate and low drop. thats what the review on maxmods.net said... just seeing if anyone had such problems thats all

you need to cut them to get more suspension travel. if you dont, you will hit the bump stops because the suspension has no more room to travel. that is what they are for. a good amount to cut is 1/3 to 1/2. i cut mine 1/2 and didnt bottom out yet.

Bumpstops are little peaces of rubber that are wrapped around the top portion of the strut, so that when your run out of suspension travel (like hitting a HUGE bump in the road), instead of having the strut hit the metal strut mounts it hits the rubber portion at the top of the strut to absorb as much shock as possible..

i hope you understand now, cause thats the best explanation i think anyone will give you haha
