a question to challenge the greatest of minds
alright, we have problems. a few weeks ago my car threw a CEL. i went to check it and when i did, the light was off and it gave me the "no problem" code. but i noticed my idle was considerably low and the car would shut off if i would push in the clutch while driving, to switch gears or slow down. so i whipped out the haynes and the multimeter, and noticed, hey, my Throttle Position Sensor is reading at 5000 ohms instead of 500, let's replace that. Sensor replaced, and adjusted. Going good for the test drive, thinking yeah, i've got this licked. WRONG. I parked the car in the drive and the idle started jumping like crazy, and voila there was the CEL again. I scanned the computer and found a Intake Air Temp Sensor code, so out again comes the trusty multi-meter the PCM is getting ample voltage from the harness, so my wiring is good, sensor, is bad. just ordered that and won't get it for a few more days. i got in my car this morning to meet up with a friend and low and behold a NEW problem. Whenever I put the car into gear, the idle shoots up to 2000 RPM and stays there. Does anyone think my IATS had any bearing on this, or do you possibly think i could have an issue with my idler control valve as well? i'm getting really upset due to the fact that all of this has happened in the last 2 weeks..which is no good. Please anyone, if you have any suggestions, or have had this problem before, let me know. i need to get my baby fixed before i junk her out of rage.

Clean your TB and IACV, check throttle linkage. Make sure idle is normal after resetting ECU, b/c sometimes it wont be unless you play around with the screw until the idle is just right. Other than that
