I have no clue.. but i think something is wrong with my install.. when i turn the wheel all the way to one side every now and then i hear a sound...
did you use camber bolts?

Hey SprintMax I hear the same sound, I have no idea what it is? If I go to an empty parking lot and turn the wheel as far as possible while driving slowly I can make the sound a lot and it sounds like almost a grinding sound? Maybe someone else knows what it is? As far as the ride goes I originally had everything set to the stiffest, which was fine if the road was smooth, but here in CT the roads are so crappy that my car was bouncing all over the place, so now I have it set to almost the softest, which is still much stiffer than stock and it handles much better.
I used the ingalls camber bolts and I was thinking that maybe using them somehow causes that sound that you hear which I think is the same sound that I hear. Ive taken the tires off and looked for any wear marks but I didnt see anything? Also did you use Sprint springs with the Konis, I did and I noticed that the rear does not look at all like 2" lower. The front looks perfect with 17" but the rear still has to much gap, just wondering if you noticed the same thing? Even after a couple of months there is still to much gap, actually I didnt notice the springs settle at all which some people here say happens. I know that the rear Konis at least can be control the height somewhat depending on if you have them set on H or H+ but this weekend I had the rears off to adjust the stiffness and I double checked that they where on the H setting which is the lower setting. I am thinking of possibly cutting the rear springs, but I think that I might try to pickup a used set Intrax and put the rears on and see how they look.
I am using Eibach Camber bolts.. not sure if its the same one.. but yeah.. this thing is freakign me out.. i am going to pull the whole suspension down this weekend coming up and take a look.. and i am bottoming out too easily.. it sux.. i am thinking something up there isn't right...
oh and don't cut the springs..

Man you guys are worrying me....
I'm getting my Koni's put on this week, maybe tues. or wed.
I'm going with H&R's. First, will I need camber bolts? And why dont most members use camber plates (like Stillen's). I know there a bit more expensive but I've been told that the camber plates offer a better ride. Please let me know what you guys find, I'd like to know the reason for the "weird sound" when the wheel is locked.
PS: I just moved to Long Island a week ago, and compared to Brooklyn the streets are awesome. I'm already thinking that my Koni's will be on their stiffest setting, and 1.5" may not be enough drop.

The sound is something you've got to live with when running Koni's. My car makes the same sound. I thought it was the strut bearing so I replaced them. No difference. The suspension sounds "clunky" to me sometimes when turning rutted corners. My theory is that the strut insert wobbles and moves just slightly in the old housing. The noise doesn't appear until the Koni's have been installed for a few days. I think everything loosens up and the sounds start to appear. I think the easiest way to solve this is to tack weld the insert to the housing. You must be careful and not heat up the insert too much though.

ok dave you might just save me a couple hours of pulling this crap down for nothing..
when i had my cousin turn the wheel. i saw the spring kinda like clip.. it moved with the wheel, then it snapped back and moved with the wheel again?
if this is normal.. well i will just leave it alone..

What do u mean by clipping? That doesn't sound normal. Try jacking up your car and then while the car is jacked up pull at the spring. If it seems loose or moves around then you might not have compressed your spring enough when u tightened the upper strut bolt.
Also for those of you who hear a grinding noise might wanna check out your strut tower bar and see if it's tightly adjusted. Mine was making a lot of rattling/grinding noise until I tightened that up.
I'm not running any camber kits and I don't get that sound.
Also what I noticed when installing the koni inserts is that the metal from the strut tends to shrink when it gets cold. The reason why I say this is that after cutting the strut in the afternoon the inserts slide in just fine.. then later on that night i tried putting them in and they did not fit. Thus i'm wondering if welding would be necessary cause the inserts seemed to be in there pretty tight.

How do you ajust the konis
How in the world do you ajust the rear Koni shocks on the 4th gen. Max. We all know the how to do the front , but whats up with the rear. How do you know what it is set at already. What did you guys mean when you said the ride height would be ajusted with the front. How would this raise or lower the car. Holla back.
