AC not blowing as cold as before: what to replace?

i know nothing about the AC system. i did fill up the R134a a bit once but it wasn't very low to begin with. it doesn't blow very cold anymore and my dad would complain about it when he rides in my car. what needs to be replaced to make it cold again? thanks

Recharge the refrigerant first. That's the easiest and least expensive first step.

I thought you meant you did it a long time ago when you said you did it "once."

Anyway...

Have it checked for leaks. That's what I would do next.

well, the one time that i checked and recharged was around 3-4 months ago maybe. at the time it wasn't low or anything, just a little bit under the 'normal' range in the gauge. since it wasn't low to beging with, i doubt it has been leaking. what should i do or check for besides leaks?

Let a certified A/C systems tech troubleshoot the system.

call around to places like Firestone or Jiffy Lubes, some lube places do a/c checks.
