ac problem

i have a 97 auto climate ac. the only time i get cold air is when the temp is at 65 (it's not even that cold). on any other temp, it just blows hot air. my mechanic recharged the system and put in a new ac compressor, but it still doesn't work properly. any ideas? thanks in advance!

uhmm.....i would have guessed the ac compressor, but you already got that changed so i have no idea. That's strange, i never heard of anything like that.
Do you have a weird noise like a winding noise coming from the engine bay?

There are quite a few sensors and mixing doors in the automatic climate control system. You might consider having Nissan scan the system to see whats wrong with it.

nope, there is no noise. i remember two years ago, i had the same problem, but the mechanic told me there was a leak in one of the hoses. now he said there might be something wrong with the "lead driver"?? i'm pretty sure i misunderstood him but it has to deal with the connection between the gas and compressor?? i couldn't really hear him on my cell, but i definitely trust him because he is a good family friend and have taken care of our cars forever.

I have the same sort of problem...... its cold...... but its not A/C cold.....

Got nissan to do a check of the system..... they recommended a condensor replacement. I still haven't done it..... but its worth a shot.
