i was wondering what are some good tires to buy for my car i have the stock maxima rims 95 se. I need to know what size too because when i bought the car they had aftermarket (Gay) rims on them like 13s. But recently some 1 slashed 3 of my tires so i now have a perfect reason to get them off

go to tirerack.com and look at user opinions of tires you are interested in. It depends if you want all season, summer or snow tires. For high performance all season (fine for me in calif.) i have potenza RE950s. They get great ratings in all aspects except snow. Also take a look at contenental conti-sport (I think that's what they are called.) Good luck!

 

I got Goodyear Assurance tires and they are the best all season i have owned.I put then to the test through 3-5 inches of snow when our last storm hit.Going down the highway at 50-60 in that snow proved alot.I'd buy 'em for any car.that's my .02......

 

Oh and on stock 15's i put 205/65.

 

I am looking at BF Goodrich Traction TA or Yokohama Avid H4s, both H-rated 60K all-season tires. The choice is somewhat restricted with the OEM wheels of the 95SE.

The TAs are superior in all-weather conditions and in cornering to the Yokohama, whereas the Yokohamas are superior in comfort and road noise.

The TAs weigh 25 pounds and the Yokohamas only weigh 21 pounds.

 

I was gona say dunlop sp fm901s but then i found out your on stockers... i dont think they make them in that size tho, if they do however (doubt it) GET EM, great tire for the price...

 

I have Bridgestone Potenza G009 215/60R15's 94H. They are considered all-season high performance tires and I think are great tires. They have a Temperature rating of 'A', Traction rating of 'A', and Tread of '400' so they'll last a good long time. They aren't harsh at all and are quiet tires for high performance tires. They did well last snow when we had about 15" of snow and are also suppost to be great in rain due to the V-shaped middle tread design. Plus IIRC they are about a $70-75 tire so they are reasonable priced.

ok anyone on here upped on the side wall size i have a gle and im running 215-65-15 anyone else here doing the same and what might be the consequences?

 

Anyone have Yokohama Avid T4s?
I dont want bigger walls, but I do want wider tires, what sizes are recommended for stock wheels with the widest possible tires?
Would these settings make the wheels wider or just have a bigger wall?: 205/70TR15
What makes the width the 205 or the 70?

Well I checked out tirerack, and did my research. Can 225/65/15 fit without any problems in turning radius? Like I said in my post, I want as wide as possible without any rubbing when I turn.

 

You get what you pay for.The assurance I have are 85,000 miles.I paid $105 for each from Discount Tires.If you're interested in something other than the two listed that you are looking at,these ones I have you should take a look at.

 

Tire width is the first number. In your case, its 205mm. 70 is the aspect ratio, or 70% of the width.

I upped my stock 205-65-15 to 215-60-15. I think any other size changes the overall diameter. I've got Bridgestone Turanza H's. Supposedly they're better than Michelin MXV4. However I can't tell since my ride has been getting pretty bumpy. I think I need to change my struts/shocks. Still originals at 110k miles. I would have thought that when the dampers get old, the car would get more springy instead of stiffer.

 

Yeah if you're feeling a bumpy ride, you're def in need of getting new struts.

 

225s should be fine or else the 235/45/17s i'm running would rub as well

I have Nitto 555s. They suck in snow but they are absolutely unbelievable when its wet out. My ABS barely activates even when I drive like an idiot.

My only complaint is that the tread isnt very deep and you feel like your tires are wearing out when theyre really not
