I CANNOT believe this!!

So I'm back at my parents in NJ for the weekend to work on my car (normally up in RI for work) and figured I would install my CE short shifter and replace my O2 sensors to clear the codes. After grinding off all the bolts holding the cat on to the y-pipe it still wouldn't budge.

FINE, I'll pull the y-pipe off too and replace that. I was hoping to do it with a Budget but under the circumstances I needed my car running by tomorrow. Mind you, this project started on Saturday morning. I drive all the way up to Danbury, CT to Custom Enterprises this morning and pick up their overpriced y-pipe and a high flow cat. After talking with the guys there, I find out that I will need to buy a new hanger bracket, gaskets and bolts as the pipe didn't come with ANY of it.

FINE, after driving to THREE different Nissan stealerships I had enough parts to get the damn thing on the car. I get to the point where I'm lining up the pipe to the studs and one of the flanges is off at least a full 1/4 of an inch. What the ****?! I paid a hell of a lot of money for something that should have fit like butter.

At this point my tab for the project is somewhere near $900 and I won't get this thing running unless I put some serious muscle into bending the y-pipe to fit. I'd then run the risk of having an exhaust leak. I CANNOT believe this... nothing seems to be going right here. I already called CE but they're closed for the day. I'm not paying 300 bucks for a piece of crap.

Send that thing back. You shouldn't have to pay for it.

The flange is the right one for the car... either the angle or the length between the two down tubes is incorrect. I'm trying to clean up my old one to see if I can throw it back on.

Maybe a little off topic, but I had NO IDEA that custom enterprises was in Danbury. Damn, I'm a town over and I had no clue.

i had the same problem with a Budget pipe (cali spec though) i tried, ended up puttin the stock back on called budget the guy was an *** and basically said it was my fault i wasnt doing it right, waited a couple weeks and tried it again, used all my arms/legs and a bunch of pry bars and finally got that bastard on, it was pushed agianst the floor pan and rattled for a couple weeks than it just decided to relax a bit at the flex section and everything has been fine since than. look at the links in my sig for pics, is yours off that much too?

My Warpspeed Y pipe needed the help of a large pry bar to get it lined up. Other then that, the fitment was perfect and it performs excellent. When you mod your car and put aftermarket performance parts on it, be ready to tweak things as needed to make them work for you. It's part of the joy of modding your car....

I know a lot of people don't like stillen. I have stillen y-pipe, had it for over a year, it fit perfectly with no extra moding. i have had no problem with it. I spend 300 plus shipping, it came to $328. You should either get Stillen or Catmman. Return that to CE. Good luck.
