by the time you run up the cost you may as well get the ultimate in cold air intakes and drop n20 on it. the gains for a n/a car are negligible although its a pretty good idea it introduces an obstruction into the airway of your car and lets it basically flow around an ice cube.

that would be good if your turbo, they make a cyrogenic cooler for intercoolers.

i wouldnt get it its a waste of money just invest in other things.

lol hes right, didnt realize I didnt say that but yeah its a big power adder when used as an intake cooler.

basically makes your car run like it was a cold cold day. so i guess on a really hot day the car wont be as sluggish but still not worth it

Without seeing it, the answer is no. And it certainly can't have anything to do with actual cryogenic temperatures. Got a link?

are you talking about the DEI cryO2 system? I think on a boosted max, the gains would be huge....but on an NA...it would be a waste of money...

I don't think the gains would be that big. You're introducing an obstruction to the intake charge. And essentially, the air is just flowing past a bulb that's ultra cold. The DEI system only has so much surface area, and will only be able to remove a limited amount of heat from the intake charge. Under boost, the volume of the air you're flowing is greatly increased, but the DEI system is only going to be able to remove the same amount of heat from the air. So the per unit removal of heat is lower for boosted applications, plus the intake manifold is going to add some heat back.

well..it's a percentage cooling effect...so if you look at it, NA temps are not that cold in a ratio to the temp of the CO2...from the DEI system...but proportionally, boosted charges are a lot greater and there for realize a larger ratio gap between the CO2 temps and the actual temps...I would think that this system would easily cool the intake charge far cooler than any conventional intercooler would be able to on a boosted maxima...but imagine bundled with an intercooler and the intercooler sprayer add-on they have...! in either case, I will eventually get this system and throw it on..then dyno to see what the gains are like!
