Does it do this if you press on the brake while the car is moving, when it is stopped, or both?

If it happens every time you step on the brakes, you might have an electrical short. This is not very hard to fix, lucky for you.

All you need to do is run a wire from your ignition switch harness under the dash from the Accessory wire directly to your radio 12 volt power wire.

Your negative / postive batt. cables are / is shot .. Happened to me. The lights probably dim when you hit the brakes too ...

The car is playing a joke on you. Its april fools day soon anyway. Nah, it probably a short, try redoing the wiring as previously mentioned, I did that in my old car and it ran fine. Also could be the battery lines themselves, try cleaning off any corrosion first.

Before doing that, check the battery terminals please.

agreed, sounds like a battery problem or posts, maybe even alternator, see if it does it when you put on your high beams or driving lights or a/c or rear defrost, anything that sucks a lot of current. or maybe someone played a trick on you...haha anyone seen that video around where a guy hooked up his buddys horn to his brake switch? every time he hit the brakes it was like hooooooooonk, friggin hysterical!
