New fuel filter, clean TB, recharged K&N

It's amazing what a mini tune up @ 30,000 miles does to throttle response!

I wanna share a few tips for an easy fuel filter replacement:

1) Put a dab of grease on the ends of the new fuel filter so the hoses come off easier next time around.

2) Make sure your engine bay and all the hoses are nice and warm. There softer and easier to work with when there warmed up.

My fuel filter came off like butter this time around, took me less then 10 minutes to change that puppy.

No matter how long I get the car to idle without the fuel pump fuse in I still get sprayed with fuel when the first hose pops off.

I usually crush the old filter barbed ends to make them samller and so it comes off really easy that way ... maybe not the best method, but it works.

I need to do this soon along with plugs.

haha, same happened to me. i cranked the car about 6 more times after it would stumble, thinking i got all the pressure out, i still got sprayed with fuel in the face. replaced it with a 300zx filter, so i dont have to worry about it for a while.

i think '90-'96 is all the same model. i asked for a '94 and got the right one, so any of those years should be fine.

what southeast_first said, any year and model will work, 90-96 non-turbo and turbo models use the same fuel filter

I just get sprayed and catch the fuel in a can- I don't like the idea of running my injectors dry by shuting power off the fuel pump- F's um up in my opinion

Did that, doesn't help... still sprays a bit of fuel.

Right Dave..i was thinking about the fuel pump - that will definitely get hosed if it is run dry.

As for the filter change, I did this last week without the fuel pump fuse removal technique- I didn't get alot of spray maybe lost about a half pint of fuel- probably because I let the car sit overnight.

You guys are complaining of getting fuel sprayed, But it show that you fuel pump is holding residule pressure and that you injectors are not leaking. If you can't hold pressure then there is a problem. Like long crank time after sitting. To be 100% that there is no pressure remove the fuel pump fuse and crank the motor. any pressure left in the line will be sprayed into the motor. Or throw a rag over your hand while pulling of the fuel hose. The rag will block the spraying into you. Peace
