how hard to replace alternator
#2
Heres what I did:
I wanted to go from underneath the car so..
Loosen the tensioner pulley and I basically removed it so it'll be out of my way. Just make sure you remember the way all the washers and bolts go in. Take out the belt now. I removed all 4 bolts on the A/C compressor underneath the alternator. They are 14mm bolts and are on nice and tight. Once you remove those, you can move the A/C compressor around so you can get to the alternator out. Unplug the connection to the alternator as well as the ground bolt (12mm) the top bolt. Loosen the bolts on the alternator, 12 mm on top, and 14mm on the bottom. The bottom has a long rod that goes across, you'll see what I mean when you get down there. Once you get the 14mm bolt loose, you just pull out the rod. The Getting it off is the easy part, mounting it back onto the mounting holes is more tough but it didn't take me more than an hour to do.
