It was me with the 02 alti steering wheel heh, here
What are your plans, to replace it with an oem steering wheel or some sort of racing steering wheel? I know this wheel and airbag bolted right up with no problems what so ever.

I changed mine cuz the leather had peeled completely off the top part. Got a used one. took me 30 mins total to swap the wheels (both installed/ uninstalled- put my old wheel in the other car). It only takes a socket (14mm or 16mm i forgot), and a philips screwdriver. It's super easy. I recommend disconnecting the horns first or it'll irritate everyone around you.

oh and no, you dont need a steering wheel puller, it pulls right off after you remove the 19mm nut.

i asked this question a while back and got no answers, however seeing the things i'm seeing now, i'm happy
Does anyone know if the diameter of the altima steering wheel is smaller than the 99 se's, cuz thats what i'm going for?

I suppose replacing with an airbag equipped wheel whould be fine, but i've heard that its illegal (at least where I live) to replace and airbag equipped wheel with something like a momo, most of the time it takes an adapter or plate and thats what they wont sell you unless you can prove its going to be for offroad use only, a friend of mine with a mustang tried to get one and ended up finding a guy who knew a guy that would install it under the table or some sheite. just so you know

i like the look of the maxima steering wheel a lot but it is HUGE. Even with the tilt all the way up it hits my knees a lot and i'm not really a tall guy at 5'9". Also i feel like i'm driving a truck sometimes when i turn. Sure handles better than a truck though

Altima wheel looks great. I want to replace mine, likely with a 97-99 wheel. Anyone have some pics of the swap. The airbag thing makes be a bit nervous about the whole procedure, but I am glad to see that it doesn't seem to be too big of a deal.

here are 2 pics of my momo steering wheel that i have on my max. its so much better then the oem unit. i know you guys are going to start to say its pointless and not safe because there is no airbag but i dont care. safety the last thing on my mind. i love it. its smaller then the OEM wheel. actuall size is 13.8. all you need to install it is the wheel itself and the hub. i dont regret buying it. i used to have a 2k2 heated steering wheel from a 2k2 max but i didnt have a airbag for it. the heated feature worked also. so far i know that the steering wheels from 5th and 5.5 gen and altima fit on the max. i dont see why the 350z or g35 wheel wont fit but it will be pricey and hard to find.

our steering wheels are huge i mean im 6'3 so its even worse for me. my friend found a 350z at a junk yard. base model. so the steering wheel doesn't have the volume controls and etc.... im hoping i can get it for a good price. how much could i get it for on the average?

Your joking right? Where do you think he hid the airbag, underneath one of the bolts or something?
As far as steering wheel size, I'm pretty sure that most steering wheels are the same size...Have you ever shopped for a steering wheel cover? How many different sizes did you find? IIRC they are all the same.

what do you mean? the steering wheel is held with 1 big nut in the middle which is a 19mm nut. the airbag is held in place with torx screws. 1 one each side. the adapters for the torx screws can be purchased from a automotive store. i bought a set for $15 which has all different types of them.

Where is your center vent/hvac from? That is definitely not stock. Also how hard was it for you to put 5th gen guages on the 4th gen?
