FSTB

Just wondering, where did you order your FSTB and how long ago?? Would it happen to be street-beat? Placed my order there two days ago, but I've heard some very different waiting times (from 5 days up to a month and a half)....

Thx

I think Streat-Beat Customs is getting alot of business from us Max people... when I ordered mine I got an email the next day saying it was on back-order. The next week I got another one saying a new shipment came in and they were sending it out. About 3 days later the UPS man delivers it to my house. About two weeks altogether, not too shabby. If they're in stock you should get it very soon after you order. Hey, for 40 bucks shipped I think its worth the wait.

Sorry for the lag in replying...was playing a videogame last night! :} Oh wait that was after I bought an intermediate K&N air filter (which I am giving to my mom when I get my pop) at my new favorite place in CT...B&B Performance

I have a feeling I will be going there far too regularly in the future...after I get my raise!

ANYWAY, I got my FSTB from KMK on ebay. I have just emailed them for the second time about it...they have a lot of them on ebay...so where the bloody heck is my brace!??!! If they don't get back to me soon I'll have to go thru ebay I guess.

The K&N airfilter...if you go to like Pep Boys or something...for the 4th gen max's had a part # change, so make sure if you are going an intermediate route, to tell wherever you get the filter that the part number is changed if they tell you it's discontinued. I notice a free-er acceleration in my car even with just the air filter! Mom gets it once I get my pop charger hehe.

DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW MUCH BHP YOU GAIN WITH A POP CHARGER OR A CAI WITHOUT OTHER EXHAUST MODS?

yeah

If i recall
Popcharger: 5-8 hp
CAI: 8-10

you really can't tell the difference between them
CAI is more low end
Pop is more top end

but in my case they make my car slower

Wow you guys get that much power from those mods. At our website we would be quoting 1 or 2 ponies for either of those mods.

muahaha...I need to do more exhaust mods to get my max up there...although I was thinking about a side project this winter................twin turbo. It's going to be a PAIN IN THE BUTT, but I don't want to slam the tranny so much like the $tillen SC. Ah well. I want to get up there with the horses.

so you barely had enough $ to get the filter and the FSTB..and you think you can get enough $ together for a twin turbo setup in the VQ? all i have to say is i wish you good luck in this project.

congrats on gettin the intake.. as for your other idea about twin turbo.. have you taken a good look at your engine bay lately?? that thing is cramped in stock form let alone a single turbo/sc setup.. but as with everything money fixes everything.. also saw u said u didn't want to slam the tranny.. does that mean your going to keep it in stock form?? that would be a real bad idea any way congrats on the 1st mod.. and keep up the good work.. hehe i know of better places in conn though.. hehe

I dunno yet...I might just get an old '70-'73 240Z and make it my project car. I will have to save up a bit longer for that, as my dad spent over $35k over 3 years on his hehe. It was so sweet though. As for Max...I might keep him fairly close to stock aside from the basic exhaust/suspension mods. I can still have fun! Pretty soon I'll be asking about more advanced exhaust mods.... Lucky for me I can make pipes with help from my racecar-building-almost-family members!
