I was wondering if anyone knows of a website that shows step by step instructions of how to swap your maxima over to a 5 speed. I have a pretty good idea of what im doing but i want to be positive. thanks

thanks, I've been looking for that link a little bit lately hadn't found it til now .. thnks. Back on topic, depending on finances it probably be best to just get a new car, well used. I'm actually weighing out my options for this as well.

A one time cost of $1200 - 1500 is much, much less expensive than getting a new car.

yeah why everyone says to buy a new car is kind of stupid if the money isnt there. besides i like the 4th gens the most and i have a gle that is totally loaded. why would i want to switch my car to cloth seats, not black on black and rip out all of my mods just for a simple 5-speed swap.(well not really that simple) thanks maximatodd

But iof the money is there, then that's when you find a loaded SE with all the options.. only 5spd. . . So you don;t have to go back to cloth etc.

yeah but then you have to go through all the hassle of trying to sell your car and find that perfect other car at the same time. IMO its easier to just do the swap. i searched for 2 months before i found the perfect max for me and ive done so many things maintance wise, i wouldnt give her up for anything (well almost anything). 5 speed swap is worth it to me.

It can be done for $1500 but to do it right its gonna run you ~$2K. Its definitely worth it. Selling is such a hassle. Especially if you're extensively modded. Nobody wants to buy a modded or de-modded car.

I would just do the swap instead of selling the current car and buy 5 spd. You don't know how previous owner drove that car. and I wouldn't trust a singe word from the seller.
