Cleaning EGR Valve...

my gas milage is horible, and i have heard that the egr valve could be a good possibility. How do i go about cleaning it and how easy is it. i looked in the how to's but there is no how to on how to clean it. thanks.

i been having the same problem the check Engine light for the EGR Valve came up been also having bad gas mileage i would like also like to know how to clean the EGR valve Pics on where it's located would be nice

Cel relating to EGR is not usually related to a bad EGR valve. In my case culprit was EGR solenoid valve.

i have the same problem as these guys my code was p1400. I get 250 a tank with highway driving. PLEASE HELP US.

Have you guys tryed cleaning the throttle body or seafoam cleaning new spark plugs, there a couple of reasons why you could get crappy gas milage

by the way the that 1400 code is prob the evap valve mine went like 2 months ago code 1446 swapped it out like a week ago and cel has not come on since ::knock on wood::

I got a tune up last month spark plug, fuel filter oil etc. I change my struts last week along with my tires. still bad gas mileage.

idk my valve was bad for over a month my gas milage was around 24 to 26

i get code 1446... changed plugs and kx and i get 320miles per tank in city driving...

so is there a way i can clean it, my car has 117k on it im sure its well and full of carbon. i have done a lot of other things to help my millage, but its just not gettin better. i have done, oil, oxygen sensors, spark plugs, gas treatment, throttle body, air filter, tire pressure, allignment. been through most the steps so im wondering if this is the problem, next stop will be knock sensor even tho i have no cel for it.
