Stone Racing Y-Pipes?

Can anyone tell me how these are? Anyone have experience with one of these? Bees in the can at all and how do they sound? How well do they fit? Reason I'm asking b/c there is one on Ebay that is pretty cheap right now brand new and I have my eyes on it. MaxMods doesn't have Stone Racing Y listed and I know I've heard the company name come up on the boards before. Thanks guys.

Alex

do not waste your money on these. These is a terrible product. Also it wont fit onto your stock headers, because they were designed only to be used with their headers. And even their headers fitment sucks. Just go with Warpspeed, Budget, or Cattman

They won't fit stock headers or Stone Racing headers. Not without having a muffler shop 'adjust' the fitment.

Damn, Im just having really bad luck with the mods i choose to buy. First GR2's and now this?

I have a stone racing y pipe sitting in my back seat and I was about to get it installed. I got it because it is Stainless Steel and was cheap. What kind of "adjustment" needs to be done to get this y-pipe to fit my stock headers?

Most muffler shops won't do the work for you...since you are replacing a cat they consider it illegal. That's here in Dallas anyway.

This is what 'I' had to do.

-Take pipe to muffler shop, they cut off rear flange above o2 bunghole.
-I took the pipe back to my friend's house and we installed the front flange and cat connection...rear flange was left cut open but the cut part was attached to the rear header.
-Drove to muffler shop and for $10 they bent the ypipe a little with a torch until the rear flange lined up with the rear header piece that we attached. They then proceeded to weld the 2 connections together.

It's ugly...but it worked. No problems actually.

They will fit, just not very well. It's like the difference between factory body parts and cheap aftermarket. You get what you pay for. There is a reason they were on ebay for a starting bid of $50. If you don't work at a shop, don't have a friend that works at a shop, or don't have much mechanical expierience, than this pipe is not for you. It does take some prying, etc. to get it on!

No headers will give you a 'good' gain over stock. Stock flows just fine. Aftermarket headers will provide around 5whp...

Stone Racing, SS Autochrome, OBX=The same thing. Just different names. They steal other companies designs and resells them in SS 304.
