why would my EGR CEL go away?

I just got home from a 700 mile road trip and on the way back i noticed that my cel wasn't lit up anymore. I thought maybe the bulb burnt out, but it still turns on with the car off. Could it unclog itself?

Well, it hasn't come back yet, and I've driven over 50 miles. I'm not complaining...

It will be back if you haven't cleaned it out/fixed it. Believe me.

Could have been a carbon deposit that sorted itself out? Just throwing it out there.

EGR is the exhaust gas recirculation system. It takes a bit of exhaust gas and injects it into the intake to burn it again, cleaning the exhaust a little bit more. The system itself clogs with carbon deposits sometimes.

my car stalls sometimes, could it possibly be because of this?

ECU's have a run cycle where they will clear themselves if the problem goes away... thats probably what happened.
