shift_performance

corny title i know, but w/e
anyway i just did some gen maintainance on the max this weekend and was really impressed with the improvement. my car has 80k miles on it and i bought it at 70k, but i don't know what the guy before me had done maintainance wise, so im doin a 60k service- a little late. i changed the spark plugs and replced the cone on my short ram filter with a fram air hog and am really impressed with the differnce. my previous filter was a POS from ebay, and the plugs still had a good gap but were burnt....badly. anyway my car used to bog a lil when i punched it, but now it so responsive, its almost scary, cuz im not used to it. im doin the fuel filter this weekend. i got the maxima filter, but i wanted the 300zx, cuz i guess its for higher performance. well the guy at the shop said i should buy the wrong one cuz there is a reason they're car specific. i told him whatever and bought the max one. so we'll see. anything else i should do? i already cleaned my TB, so anything else?

Looks like you got it covered after you do the fuel filter.

the 300zx is no diff from the maxima other than size, its not more for performance, it will just last you longer cuz its a bit bigger, thats it. And i have one in my car, works fine, so dont listen to those idiots telling you other wise

It's not that hard if you crush the barbed ends so you won't have to pull for years and years, but still the z is a good replacement.

If you're going to replace your filter, you might as well go with the Z....the only thing is to fit it back into the holder, but with a little adjustment, it works fine.
