please help,no answers from 1/4mi forum

first off, sorry for posting in the wrong forum, but i was not getting any responses in the 1/4mi forum due to the low activity so i'm trying this forum hoping u guys can give me some answers( i already read all the stickies).I'm going to the track tomorrow with a couple of friends that talk a lot of crap and i wanna kill...one of them has a 95 5.0 stang with h pipe, 2.5inch bassani cat back, sts and an aftermarket clutch and the other with an 03 330ci with cai, muffler, sts and pulleys. I have a 95 gxe 5 spd. with cai, y , 2.5 in b pipe with a flowmaster muffler, centerforce dual friction, centerforce 9 lb flywheel and illumina shocks. I wanted to know if anyone can give me some pointers for track prep. such as suspension settings((stiff or loose?), tire pressure( i read 25 psi...but i know it's diff for every tire) i have 245/45r17's. I am planning to remove everything in the trunk, run on 1/3 tank of gas and launch around 2k but not sure if i should let off at 2k or launch hard. From experience i dont get good traction launching hard and this is why i bring this up. I also plan on shifting at redline from 1-2 and @ 6200 from 2-3. Should i remove the filter on my cai when running? (i bought an ebay cai and it has a small restrictive filter{PR style} ) As usual thanx for all your help...long live the org. u guys kick a**

I didn't know a Maxima is capable of beating a 95 Mustang 5.0! I can understand if its boosted. BTW, you should have posted this in the West Coast forum, you'll probably have better response from there since there's quite a few orgers that regularly hit the track.

I'm kind of wondering the same thing, because when I get my new STIFFER suspension I'm gonna take a run just to see what she runs. Only question I can answer is your intake filter question. This doens't sound like a good Idea to take off the intake filter. Sorry to get off subject but you said you have 2.5" b-pipe with a flowmaster muffler. I'm planning on doing this setup. Is your b-pipe custom made? and which flowmaster do you have? (I'm planning on 60 series)? Anyways good luck at the track, but all those mods on a 5.0 330 block sounds hard to beat...

I have a Delta Flow 40 series. The sound is awesome, no droning in the car. The sound isn't over-bearing. I'm getting a 2.5" resonated B pipe put in in a few weeks. The only regret I have is that I wanted more performance than sound. The fact that Flowmaster mufflers are chambered is not exactly good for performance. If your goal is performance, you'd be better off with straight-thru designs like Magnaflow and such. The only set back is that its hella loud. I am going to sell my Flowmaster most likely, if you are interested, PM me.

Sorry for hijacking this thread. We'll keep further discussions in PM.

the flowmaster is a 60 series and the b pipe is a warpspeed b pipe with a resonator, it sounds good and doesn't drone but i think straight through mufflers sound better on the vq30 rather than the flowmaster which is chambered

dude...mustangs are the most over-rated cars in the world! he is lucky to run mid/low 14's in that POS. i smoked a 330 bimmer before but dont know if it was an auto or stick. i think you will eat the bimmer and at least give the stang a good run for its money. buy the way...dont stick to one formula at the track. find whatever works good for you and use it.

i have taken my neighbors stock mustang 5.0. when he sprayed a 100shot, he got me then. and u have ur shift points wrong. in first gear shift around 6200, then the rest of the gears shift at redline. this is what i was told when i first joined the .org. the 3 series is generally slow (excluding M3 of course) so i think u should be able to take the 330.

Just get a bigger filter, I got a eBay CAI too and never installed the baby filter, I just used a regular sized one. You can't sleep on mustangs, you have more of a chance if it's stock ,but still..., plus him shooting nitrous puts you out of your league since N/A.

according to R&T and some other magazines, A 2002 330 stick will run 14.7 all day in the 1/4. It all depends on the driver, your tires and other factors. You said u've been to the track, good , u have some experiance. Remember , take all **** out and stay relaxed. Good luck with the stang and 330.
Oh yeah.. there is a website , its called www.car-stats.com and they have o-60 and 1/4 mile times for a lot of cars. Check it out.
