hey guys, i just got my D2 coilovers, n it seems to be a pain in the butt to adjust them after you put them on ur car cause you have to turn the bottom piece to lower it. I was wondering if anyone can tell me how many inches they have apart from the bottom piece to the spring n how low it was when they did that. Thanks, one dumb question, the closer the bottom piece is to the spring, it means its lower n lower right??

Hey man, I'm in the same boat. I was about to start a post myself since the D2s are going on this weekend. ImmaSquashYou - First off, I was just going to compare the length to the OEM and changed the D2s based on that standard. Also, DO NOT adjust ride height by changing the top collar where the spring sits. Skalberti in the 5th gen forum has schematics from the D2 factory and it strictly warns against this. Your ride height should be adjusted from the bottom only. I also want to get answers on the following:

- How do I know which one is left and right?
- How much should I preload the springs with the top collar?
- What did the alignment shop set you camber plates to? Does it match the settings in the stickies?
- Is there anything I can do to reduce the clanking from the pillowball mounts or am I screwed?
- How do I confirm spring rates and can anyone compare their serial # to mine and see if I have D2s from the second production run?
- Where did all the good DIY D2 threads go?

So many questions, but I want to do this right.

i know that your're not suppose to adjust the top collar, but the thing is, how far is too far so you won't damage ur coilover. Left and right don't matter. but i can't find anything..someone help me please......i want maybe a one finger wheel gap....but i'm afraid that's not going to allow enough travel and blow my strut
