I think this is purely personal. What you like I may not like. For example, you like the konig monsoons but I don't like them. Get what ever you think is best on the car, because after all it's your car. Just make sure you get the right rims... must be 18X8, 35-40mm offset... DO NOT get 18X7s... cause you can run 235/40-18 tires like you are supposed to be.

Just for reference, here's my car...

I believe 18x8.0 rims are usually manufactured by only "high-end" brands = more $$$

It all depends on what your budget is & what your personal taste is. Believe me, I tried finding some 18x8.0 rims that I like & that would fit my budget but to no avail. So I got 18x7.5" rims with 225/40/18 tires which are OK (it's only 5.7mm smaller in diameter than stock SE tires - 215/55/16). It does not HAVE to be 8.0 wide rims & 235/40 tires - but Shing is right...do NOT get 7.0 wide rims.

What do you guys think the best rim is for 17x8 in terms of look and light weight?

Get some Borbet's as pictured!!!

These are beautiful wheels and the performance gain is phenominal!!!
Also they look some what stock to the untrained eye which helps when being pulled over - because this will happen-
The WIDE and FAT spokes are ultra smooth.
Compliments abound.- forget the performance-
Also they are only 17".
18" wheels are more likely to be dented, scraped or otherwise damaged.
The 17" wheel gives both performance and comfort.
Unless you're going for looks only.... get some 17" wheels.
You and the car will last longer.
Good luck!!!

Here's the best wheel for the $$$$$

I have Volk TE-37's (pictured). They are 17x8 and weigh only 15 pounds (the lightest wheel you will find). I run a 235/45/17 Nitto 555. Its a huge difference over heavier wheels. Cost : about $500 per rim (tire not included)

depends on what you want to accomplish,
i went with the touring look, hence my kit, the wing, and the 6 spoke TSW revos. i wanted the Konig Tantrums, but stayed away from that cuz its only 17x7 (or 7.5, forgot)

revos are $161 *when on sale* or around $190 ea.
Tantrums are $190-200 each.

i'm planning on getting Enkei RPO1s $200 ea for the track, cuz they're only 17 pounds for 17x8. pretty good and cheap.

if you want to go ultra light, Don's or Nabil's Volk TE-37s are great! only 15 pounds for the wheel, and with tire, it's only 36.5 pounds (that's with nabil's tire sp8000s)

personally, i think everyone has a 5 spoke pattern, why not go mesh style like BBS RXs or Gewalts? but those are bucks.

you said you wanted 18s, but remember, tires in 18s are expensive too!...

if cost is no factor, more the power to you, but the bigger and shinier the rim, the heavier, i've noticed. :P
