Installing headers and y-pipe (update)

I wanted to know how hard it is to install stone raing headers and y-pipe? I am having a friend do it in a garage with a lift and stuff and I just wanted to see how long it takes and how hard it was? Does anyone know?

i know for the cattman headers people are saying 5-6 hours and as for the ypipe depending on rusted your bolts are and from the write ups ive seen not hard at all especially because hes gonna have the light so all in all tops if you dont run into any problems with the y-pipe then 7 hours tops and at least 6 only because of the headers there a pain ive heard

ah havnt really heard much about those buit im guessing it may similar because you do have to take off and instal the same parts any reason you picked stone racing over cattman and what kind of y pipe did uget

Well I got them for a good price plus I heard with the other type of headers you have to cut something out. It is a stone raing y-pipe to. I read on there website it 's 19 wheel horsepower. I wasn't sure if that was true but I talked to someone with the same set up who dynoed at 18 wheel horsepower so maybe it does.

Any header install will take around the same time to complete. Expect 10 hrs if you've never done it before.

You will cut down on that time if you take of the Intake manifold and also take off the crossmember. We did the job in about 7 hrs without taking the crossmember off but it would have helped immensely.

WARNING...don't be surprised if the Stone Racing Ypipe doesn't bolt up. Before you take off the stock headers check the fitment of the SR Ypipe and see if the flanges are correct. I had a prototype set but I have heard that the production doesn't fit either.

Need help with y-pipe

My friend is trying to put my y-pipe and headers on. He took the stock y-pipe off and said that the y-pipe I have won't line up with the stock headers. Will it only work the the after market headers that come with it? This is the set up I have.

If anyone has used these before you know about this please respond back.

I need to know if you need the stone racing headers to match up with the y-pipe because the stone racing y-pipe doesn't match up with stock headers.

SR ypipe doesn't even match up with the SR headers.

I'll post more on this tomorrow...

Here you go...I've explained the process before of what I had to do. Unfortunately for any Stone Racing customers, this problem will most likely never be resolved from them.

Good luck.

Seems like it's better to stick with Budget or Cattman for y-pipes

FOR SURE! I never find any fitment issue posts on Budget or Cattman, a few on Warpspeed. You get what you pay for! Don't go cheap, don't go Stone Racing.

Got SR Headers and Y-pipe on

My stone racing headers and y-pipe are on. I haven't seen the car yet but my friend them them on today. I will post something after I drive the car and tell you how it is. I have no idea how he got the stone racing y-pipe on because I heard they don't line up. I will find out soon.

The headers and y-pipe are great. I can feel the difference. The car feels a lot better. I got new spark plugs to so I am sure that helps.
