flowmaster part #

Going to be replacing my stock rusted muffler with a flowmaster pretty soon. I was hoping to sound a little louder and deeper than stock, but not in any way loud or ricey. It would be GREAT if you guys could post the part # and a picture of the muffler on the car. The reason for the picture is because i dont want it to look like a fartcan. Any info on this is greatly appreciated!

I have a Fro-Flo muffler. Its a generic knock-off of the Flowmaster Delta series mufflers only with less chambers and sounds the same so it'll give you an idea of how it sounds like. All I have is a muffler so results may vary if you have a Y-pipe ect...

Right now since its been on my car for about 8 months its still kinda loud. It will give you some gains though. I want the flowmaster 60 and a better lookin tip.

the 50 series is quieter than the 40 series but some max owners still said it was too loud.

If your looking for sound, FM is good enough. But if you want performance, straight thru is it only it tends to be louder than usual and you seriously need a resonator.

Here are some videos of my FM delta flow 40 series. The video is somewhat crappy but the audio should give you a general idea.

thanks for the replies.

Yeah, i'm only looking for the sound since my parents paid for a big part of the car, and they said that i'm not allowed to get any serious performance mods. Muffler is ok because my stock is rusted.
I think that flowmaster sounds good, but i cant really tell very well because the quality is kinda bad.
Would it be fine if i just went to this exhaust shop (got hookups for free labor), and got some no-name muffler from there, or can the quality really be distinguished between the flowmaster and the cheapo mufflers (in terms of sound/performance/quality)?

You gotta consider quality too as mufflers made with cheap material will rust quicker than the ones made with better material. Also, some are chambered like FM or straight thru like Magnaflow. Magnaflow is naturally louder but better for performance. Its up to you what you want out of your muffler. But consider that very cheap mufflers will not last as long so again its up to you, what do you expect out of your muffler?

I bought a Masterflow from ebay $100 shipped; I love the deeper sound and is not noise/ricey at all. Fits perfectly, I left 2 inches sticking out the bumper and looks great. I paid $75 to installed at Meineke. It is stainless steel. It is a decent quality muffler and for $100 you can't complaint, other brands are at least twice the price. I do not have digital camera for pictures.

I'm probably just gonna go to the muffler shop, and since one of my best friends is a great friend of the owner of the muffler shop, he'll probably hook me up with something good quality for a good price. Any other replies still welcome...

They had to weld a piece of pipe, plus hangers. I know everything in NY is crazy expensive. Other shops wanted $100.

I paid $40 for mine, hangers and all. I even watched the guy do it, he did good work otherwise I would have told him to think again and do it right.
