HID, Warm-up Question

Just started to notice that my HIDs warm up in different amounts of time....is that a sign of future problems? After about a minute, obviously they are both the same color ...it's just that the right one stays more of a blue color for longer...Anyone? thanks

Do you have a custom wire harness? If you are using your stock harness that shiat will fry and wont have enough power to suffciently power the ballast at startup.

... no its really not.... they should change evenly.. check if ur connections are connected rite.. and well i dont understand what u mean by using stock harness... u mean if u have the plug and play kit..? cause im getting power from teh stock harness.. its not plug and play.. like my HIDs dont have the plug for the 9004 connector...

anyhow.. they shouldnt do that.. there should be lik ea flick on.. and the color goes from blue to the white...

unless u have the 10,000k type kits that are that PLAIN BLUE color.... and not the
4-k OEM setup..

HID kit or retrofit. You should always have a custom wire harness. You run the risk of major electrical problems in the future because the stock harness just isnt made to handle the high current needed at start up for H.I.D ballasts.

There's your answer. Both should warmup at the same rate, otherwise thats a sign of something not being hooked up correctly, not enough power flowing to the ballasts, etc.

If you bought a cheapo kit, no use in even finding the problem, wont last you more than a year anyways.

well

its a hanabi kit......however, i dont understand how its an electrical problem...or how a "loose ocnnection" could be the problem...how does that efect the time they take to warm up? I could seee if there was a delay in the time they take to actualy "flick" on.....but they both flick the same time...one jus takes longer to turn that whitish/purple color...

it may be the start of a bulb problem...check your headlights for moisture...just the slightest bit can cause a discoloration...after the warm up they both should be the same color...or u will start to notice the one bad bulb will start to be bluer then evenually fade to a dingy looking HID like the old acura TL one's...either way it doesnt sound like an electrical prob @ all...the power up, and both come one @ the same time...

On cold days my start up at different colors.

but they usually end up the same color as far as i can tell.

I just have a plug and play kit, now additional wiring upgrades.
