3'' pipes

i just wanna know why 3'' pipe is only recommened for boosted maximas........evryone always gets 2.5'' pipe.....tell me if im wrong but---------bigger pipe = more air flow = more hp/tq right.....some people say it isnt a good idea to put 3'' on a none boosted max.....y is that??

In order to have more air flow OUT, you need more air flow IN, and non-boosted maximas are limited in how much volume they can injest on their own w/o the aid of F/I.

i guess that answers my question......so i guess stick with the 2.5'' pipe......
