Drivetrain vibration, Possible causes?

This post is for a friend, he has a 95 GLE, and he has this vibration problem that he can feel though the drive train. This is how he describes it.

“Whenever I drive on the go up between 40 and 60 mph I feel a vibration happening throughout the car. I can definitely feel it because I am driving but the passenger in the front seat can also feel it. I also noticed when I am on the highway and I go around or past 80 and when I get off the highway and slow down to 30 or lower I can feel a much bigger vibration and a loud grinding sound when turning the wheel or just stepping on the brakes.”

I know that it is very hard to try and pinpoint a problem like this and it could be many different things but does anyone have any idea of what to look at for the possible cause of this?

Vibration felt when breaking can be warped rotors and/or worn down pads.

When accelerating is a bit trickier, Could be he just need a minor tune up, could be a coil pack, sparks could be in desperate need of changing.

I'm assuming no Cel light?

Thanks for the reply, yes the CEL is not on. I never thought of a tune up, I will ask him when it was last done.
