stripped nut on strut mount, need help
Alright so my buddies and I were taking my springs n stuff out so I can put in coilovers and we ran into a situation...
One of my buddies stripped the nut on the rear left strut mount and it's actually on there real tight. Any suggestions on what we can do? need help ASAP! |
Oh I did that the first time around. Find one of those kits at sears to remove stripped nuts. Worked fine, it'll take it off if you can get a good enough grip.

is it expensive?

Which nut, the center nut that holds the piston?
|
na its the nut that holds the strut

or get a dremel with the cutting wheel on it and slice the nut off. assuming you wont be reusing it... thats what i did. but if you do be VERY VERY careful. try not to cut up ur fender well, etc

If it's a stripped nut, you can use a nutcracker. It's a tool shaped like a c-clamp that you tighten until the cutting jaw crack the nut.
