rear oxygen sensor code

is there any proof that throwing off a rear o2 code will not hinder performance? ive had a gforce ecu now for 2 years with this code and always wondered if the code really made the car go into a different mode or not anyone have any proof

I dont think it does anything c uz i still get great gas mileage with my g-force and the code, and the performance SEEMS to be there, am going to replace the sensor this week though, so i will let you know what i come up with.

i replaced the sensor and put my old computer in just to pass emissions and then put the gforce back in....my gas mileage is still good too but i always wonder if the advanced timing of the computer over shadow the low performnace mode of a dead o2 sensor

well i think, and from what i've read the rear o2 is just a "tester" of the cat's performance and the front o2's performance
