repainting back bumper

So I'm an idiot. I get my new CAI today, have some fun with the car doin some crazy stuff i shouldnt do. That's not even the issue. I hit 142 tonight and all is well, then I go to the gas station...when im backing up, an f'in dumpster comes out of nowhere and hits my back bumper (just kidding I completely backed in to it, like a moron.) Anyway, I lost a good amount of paint and I can't stand to look at my back bumper now. Anyone know how much it is to repaint, or does anyone have a arctic white bumper suitable for a 99?

I feel like a moron, so spare me the humilation!!!!

I hate when that happens, I had a PARKED VOLVO come out of nowhere and take a chunk out of my back bumper while I was backing up with my friend "Vodka".

-wants to know also, Because someone, when coming out there parking space, scraped my car on the right side bumper. Now my bumper has a mean looking scratch, like a cat would do. Plus a chip of paint came off my bumper on the left, so i would also like to know how much it would probably be to repaint bumpers..

LOL my friend "Miller Lite" played a crucial role in mine too...lesson learned.

Anyone have a white bumper? I'm sure it would be cheaper just to do that.

True- and by the way, keep up that 142MPH **** and your bumper is going to be the least of your headaches. Chill out man!

I repaint my bumper a year ago for $250 but unfortunally they just ripped me off because didn't add flexible paint to paint (only used regular paint for metal), so my paint after hitting something started cracking and peeling off; I went back to place to complained and they played smart telling me they did use flexible paint even when I was told by 3 body shops they didn't; they wanted an extra $150 to repaint again; so I said no way; so now looking for a place as well but now is hard for my to trust anybody.

My partner own a body shop and he get any where from 250 - 300 to repair and refinish bumpers. He's not the cheapest but his work is very good

Visit your local junk yard. You can see if a junk yard has one that is already white, you might be able to pick one up for $100 to $150. They have a network among the yards, and can tell you if another yard has one.

I have some nasty rash on my back bumper from what I believe was a bad repaint by the previous owner. I have a buddy who works at a car lot and their paint guy told me those bumpers don't paint well and I would be better off getting a brand new bumber and having it painted fresh? Does anyone smell b.s.? What has been anyone else's experience with the longevity of a repainted bumper?

That guy is b.s. I was told the same by this lazy painter; it is easier for them to buy an aftermarket bumper for under $100, then just primer it and paint it; they do not really want to spend the time of removing old paint from original bumper. Original bumper is way better quality than cheap aftermarket that cracks easily and is way thiner. As long as they do a good quality paint job in you bumper should last you many years, expect to pay $250 and up depending in your state, here in NY they are asking $350-500, ridiculous.

Maybe the police and your insurance company would like to know that they have a drunk teen under one of their policies?
