Great car by the way, VQ 3.5 and retrofited projectors make me so jealous. And your color is better than my bland beige. Blah to you!

I know people swing off your nuts and stuff... but you raced a 4 CYLINDER ACCORD SEDAN. Those are low 16 second cars. Not to mention you need to turn down the song so you can actually hear your car. Besides that.. nice work!

Thanks for wasting my time with this vid. Btw, isn't it just a street racing video? If so shouldn't yhis thread be locked?

Just want to mention that the Accord used to be able to hang with my 3.0 from a roll pretty well, I would be able to just creep away from him.. granted it was an i4.. Dave, sorry you feel that way.

Take videos at the track or something and get your 1/4 mile time. The VQ35 swap is awesome but street racing isn't. By the way, what transmission do you have? Do you have a 4th Gen 5-speed or did you retrofit a 5th Gen 6-speed?

Also, did you use the 5th gen ECU and retain the variable valve timing or did you do a hybrid swap with 3.0 heads, throttle, and electrical gear? Do you have dyno charts?

Oh and good choice with the Ruby Pearl 95/96.

About the password thing, once you put it in and click fetch it should automatically start downloading.. It is also possible that either you dont have a good zip software, or you are using the windows embedded zip program and its garbage..

At least record it on the highway.

But great job on the 3.5!

LOL @ the DRIVE SAFELY message at the end of the video. I agree with the other guys about street racing, nothing safe about it. But I'm not gonna make a big deal about it. Thanks for sharing the video regardless. Would love to see you run on a track and see ET's. I wonder if Ceasar's Max can hang with your vq35???

I can tell you with out a doubt NO. The 3.5 will not directly "bolt" on. There is plenty of other stuff that needs to happen first. Check out the All Motor Forum.

Bolt on, yes. Plug and Play, NO WAY. Cams, engine harness, and timing equipment need to be modified.

BTW, Welcome to the org.

thank you nismo3112, im new to the org but i've had my max and done alot to it already, and the 3.5 makes alot of sence, i have an auto 4th gen and i was thinkin about swapping out the trans for a 5spd which will run me $800 installed and it will shave a little of my et. and to turbo the 4th gen haha you know how much that will cost. So i was thinkin by swapping in the 3.5 with a manual trans that right there is 75 more hp and im sure way cheaper than a turbo and 5spd.

all in all what did it cost you

what year is the 3.5

is it a complete 3.5 top and bottom?

and is there anyway you can do some sort of write up on it

Total the 3.5 swap was around $1200, maybe a little less.

Engine is a 2k2 , yes complete 3.5, except for a few 3.0 parts used.

Writeup... Ill let someone else do that

Im guessing he modified the stock 4th g ecu to work with it because re-wiring for an 02+ ecu would be a PITA. IIRC he's useing the stock 4th gen 5 speed.

Yeah I have a 5spd, ECU is stock, as well as the engine harness except for the different injector plugs, and extended rear coil wires.
