Coilovers worth the extra $180?

I was wondering if the GD for coilovers is worth it for $740 shipped versus getting the Illuminas for $408 shipped and then S-Techs for about $150 shipped. So that's about $560. Should I just go ahead and spend the extra $180? I heard that every time that the ride height is adjusted, an alignment is required. Is this true? Cuz if it is, i won't be adjusting much at all. And with the Illuminas, do i really need that much more dampening control? I think that I will be as happy as I need with the Tokicos and Teins.
Any opinions or advice is appreciated.

Chris

Spend the extra money, and then install it yourself. You do not need to get an alignment everytime you adjust, maybe after it is initially installed and if you drop it VERY low to the ground, otherwise maybe once after it all settles in and thats it.

ok, i guess that was just a rumor. and yeah, i'm planning on doing the install myself either way. and are the KSports bottom end coilovers or are they still really a very nice setup?

I would get the coilovers, plus being in a snowy environment I would want the ability to raise the car up off the ground a bit to add more clearance, especially if you have a body kit.

no kit, and i was pondering the option of switching back to stock setup in the snowy months, but people said that shouldn't be necessary. i will be at MSU (montana State) next year, so it will be similar to the Minnesota winters. but yea, being able to raise up would be really nice.

and the dampening on the coilovers; is it more extreme than the illuminas, like does it go softer and stiffer then from 1-5 or does it just allow for infinitely more intervals in between?

If I were to go brand new, I would definitely spend the extra and go with coilovers.

def go with coilovers, i have the ksports and i love em, and i also went and got the lifetime alignment done at firestone, so everytime i adjust mine i will go and get an alignment done, i pretty sure its a bit overkill, but hey i paid the money for it, so why not?
