"Most things that are wrong with your maxima" Contest...

Post all the things that are not working properly on you maxima. The person with the most things wrong gets a prize. The prize is a secret.

As for my car...96 SE 5spd:
-cel code for faulty evap solenoid
-cel code for faulty barometeric pressure sensor
-backseat dome light out
-driverside foglight out
-frame damage (chasis is twisted from an accident)
-big gap in between trunk and rear bumper (from accident)
-button on driverside door to pop trunk doesn't work
-bad passenger axle
-squeeling rear brakes/rubbing
-bald front passenger tire (need allignment)
-cracked passengerside flip down mirror (don't ask how)
-paint doesn't match perfectly (from accident)
-shifter boot hangs down 1" from the ****
-"clicker" broken on armrest
-sunroof "slider" is off track
-big gap in my dashboard peices (from bad stereo install job)
-one bolt is striped holding down passenger seat- seat wobbles when driving
-rear doors squeek when open/close
-Speedo is disconnected/tach works
-many dings and dents all around the body (minor)

All this and I still run consistent 14.7s @ 93mph with just a ypipe. I know it's slow.

Just remebered a few more things:
-tints are slightly bubbling
-rear lug nuts different than front. The rear ones require a special key (which I don't have) not to mention they are sripped! front ones are fine

-preset #1 (Z100) and some other stations do not work all the time because....
-antenna does not go up at all ( fuucked up stereo intallation)

So I guess i win my own contest.

oh man, get ready. From the time I got the car till now this is what ive done. (8 months ago)

-Alternator
-Belts
-Tensioner for the belts
-A/c compressor and recharge the system
-Fuel pressure regulator
-Full tune up
-New tranny mount
-Polyurethane engine mounts for the front and back because they were gone.
-All new exhaust hangers, the other ones were ripped and only 2 were good.
-All exterior lights
-Upgraded wire harness because mine was cheap, then put on some hids.
-Got new tires, front neg camber ate up my old ones.
-New rotors and brake pads
-All new exhaust gaskets, the old ones were starting to leak.
-Mevi manifold, the old one I thought had a crack in it... I was wrong
-New mistubishi coil packs
-Replaced driver's side CV shaft seal for the tranny
-Replaced the passenger side CV shaft
-Replaced the rear valve cover gasket
-Headunit broke 3x, got a new eclipse Cd8445 headunit.
-Replaced all 3 o2 sensors
-Atenna mast was replaced, someone bent it
-Someone punched my hood, paid 100 bucks to get that pulled out.
-My car has some dings where and there, no body damage at all, its pretty flawless.

Yes in 8 months I did all that, Plus of coarse some other things here and there but that was because I wanted to do it. Car as of now run's perfectly fine.

Let's try this:

I got my Max for free from my brother-in-law. The day before I took delivery some doofus in an SUV backed into it and dented the rear quarter panel then took off. A week after I got it the radiator blew out and I replaced it. Two weeks later the "Check Engine" light came on for the engine coolant temperature sensor, I replaced it. Two weeks after that I heard a clicking from the drivers side and took it to a mechanic. He said the driver's side CV joint was bad and I had him replace it. A week later the rear brakes started dragging, I replaced them. Another few weeks (my longest time problem free so far) and the "Check Engine" light popped on again this time for a bad O2 sensor, Knock Sensor and the engine coolant temp sensor, again. This time I took it to a mechanic who replaced the sensors and told me that my power steering pump had a slow leak.

So now I am having squeaking issues with the front brakes (they're being fixed on Wednesday) and I found out that a coilpack might be bad and need replacing. I knew that some of the stuff would go bad since it had never been replaced before and the car has 160,000 miles on it, I'm just surprised that it all happend so quickly. I still love the car though. It's the best one I've ever owned.

95SE, 5-speed, 58,478 miles.

Bulb out in front passenger seat switch for heating leather seats
Slight leak from front left transmission seal
Will need 4 new tires in about 6K to replace OEM Goodyear Eagle RSAs
Original spark plugs still in, but cleaned recently and are good to go for several K

More importantly: the car runs perfectly and the only problems I'v had since day 1 are: Blew a sidewall out of a tire, new battery, recharge air conditioning, new 02 sensor on warranty about 7 years ago, front left headlight bulb replaced, replaced oil sensor. Major catastrophe - recently replaced rear brake calipers with rebuilt and replaced rear pads with 40% left to wear bar as a result of right rear caliper piston seizing. Reason: my own stupidity for not using the parking brake for years (turns caliper piston in further).

This car has been virtually trouble-free since day 1 and should last for several years as its not a daily driver and is driven about 80% highway miles at low traffic volume times.

I also have LSD and am not anticipating the dreaded differential-bearing problem.

Bad driver strut mount and bearing
Exhaust leak before the front bank O2
Both fenders are dented (left front tire rubs on fender because of dent and strut mount)
Loose rear wing
Both axles need to be replaced
Rear valve cover leak
Lower radiator support where the crossmember bolts up has a crack in it
Odometer doesn't work
Speedo and tach are starting to act weird
Miscellaneous interior squeaks and rattles
Bent undercarriage
Hood struts are bad
Hood latch doesn't work properly
Paint needs a detail badly
Front rims are scuffed and rear have scratches in the clear coat
Wheel bearing grease seal makes squeaky noises at low speeds
Mount mounts are shot to he!!
Various scratches and minor dents
Missing driver side foglight
Bose headunit display doesn't work
Need a front brake job
Hood has so many paint chips it's unbelievable
Rust underhood and on the undercarriage from life in illinois
CEL for EGR High/Low flow (0302)
That's all i can think of...

These will get fixed in due time. The only thing that keeps me going is the black leather interior and hope of a 3.5 swap.

I guess I dont have it so bad, most of my stuff can be easily fixed=

- Upstream Right O2 sensor is gone (so it settting off KS code, so I'm running POS safemode)
- Possible exhaust leak on y-pipe-to-cat
- Front driver strut mount is sandwished
- Previous owner- two golf ball dings, dented rear driver door from some1 backin up in a parking lot on a hit and run
- Cat scratches all over the paint
- Dirty foglight housings
- Motor mounts throughbolts COMPLETLY separated from the rubber
- 4 blown Speakers and an old AIWA headunit with a dirty lense that doesn't read half my CDs
- Shifterboot torn in peices
- Leaky valve stem seals on cylinder 1 (small amounts of oil on that spark plug)

Other than that....
