MEVI question
MEVI question
Hey, can anyone confirm this:
The force that makes the mevi open is the vaccuum pressure.
The force that makes the mevi close is due to a spring mechanism that works when the vacuum pressure stops.
Thanks-

basically, this means I am screwed. My mevi sticks, and basically theres no way that I can get the spring to close the valves again. Im stuck with picking open or closed for a track session and thats it. I can get the vaccuum to open it (after like thirty sec) but theres no closing after that
I wonder if Courtesy Nissan will give me a refund...

not to steal your thinder or anything but where did you order your relay and what rpm switch are you using?
I tried oiling it, it helped but nowhere near enough. I dont see where the spring is- I had it installed by Turbo95Max (matthel) and he couldnt get it to work.
I oiled the moving parts that I could get to (took the top off of it) but the fact of the matter is, there is just still so much friction that it only sloooowly opens under vaccuum (I dont have the summit switch or relay on, its just straight vaccum hose) and when no vaccum, it - stays!
I suspect that the rubber gasket in the lever is too tight against the brass "cylinder / housing". So I put some oil in there, again, seemed to help but only a little. I dont see how I can just take that part off and get it replaced, either. Can I order new butterflies / rod / arm assembly from somewhere? Anyone got suggestions?

The spring is probably in the actuator thing. That is the only place I can imagine it could be in. You can call courtesy and order a new one. It shouldn't be too much.
