How much is a Throttle Position Sensor? Also how do I figure out what caused it? I have the manual but it doesnt really explain how to find out what caused the check engine light to come on and give me the codes for the Throttle Position Sensor. I put on a cone filter with an adapter but it was on for over a month without the Check Engine light coming on. I then took it off, cleaned it and put it back on and about 2 days later the Check Engine light came on, could this be what caused it? And if so what do I do to fix it? Please help me out.

Re: As referenced

I already checked the ECU and got the codes. However the codes just show what is causing the CEL to come on but not what is causing it to come on. That is what I am wondering how to find out. Thanks

I do not know what caused your Throttle Position Sensor to fail. Sometimes parts break, sometimes they wear out, sometimes a manufacturing defect causes them to go bad. Maybe a Nissan engineer could put your failed sensor under a microscope and solve this mystery... but you and I will probably never know.
