my window fell of the tracks
my window fell of the tracks
how do i put my window back on the tracks cuz i wind it down it fell off now when i click up it does nothin i have to manually pull the window up. damn auto people say 200 bucks. help with this
you're gonna have to be more specific cause this is what i'm getting from this. you rolled down your window, and i'm guessing you have power windows. and what do you mean it fell out of it's tracks. you mean you try to roll it up and nothing happens right? the motor just keeps on going?? or the windows felll out of place? if the motor keeps on running and the windows doesn't go up, yes, it is about $200 unless you replace it yourself. but can be a pain sometimes since if you go to the junkyard, most of the time you won't know how long the life is in the new motor. the reason why your window won't roll up is because some of the tracks are missing. not because it if off track. even tho you are able to pull it up with your hand and it stay there in place, doesn't mean that the lil notches aren't broken off. best bet is go to the junkyard and get a new window assembly or just the motor depending on how much it is

basically when i pull it up by hand it slides down a little and then grabs maybe cuz of the window panels or somethin but this sucks cuz where i work isnt exactly the nicest place and i dont want my max bein stolen
well its no longer a 15 minute job since he can pull it up by hand. you can't simply pull a window up by hand. and it deson't sound like its just "out of the tracks" seems to me you need a new motor since the some of the notches in the motor have broken off or have been stripped. sad to say but, you're gonna have to ditch some money out. they're not cheap either by the way.
Its'defintately the window regulator. Buy a new one from a dealer and install it yourself. The hardest part is swapping the engine since it's screwed in real tight on your current regulator. Here's the instructions I used to do the whole process:

Good luck. BTW I paid 80 from a dealer for this part. so it's not that bad. I wouldn't recommend the after market regulators. construction is cheap and the fit might be a bit off. Also they come with engine's already that are not as good as the factory engines.
