I ran out of fuel just after I pulled into the gas station. (Phew) The car completely shut down, but I was able to roll into the pump.
18.10 gallons were filled and topped off only. Is there something wrong? I know the tank is 18.5 gallons at capacity. I guess I might just be being ****, but what happened to the extra .4 gallon?
$38 for one full tank from empty @ 2.099 a gallon 93 octane.

This is a common theoretical vs actual situation, you're not going to get 18.5 gal in there unless you picked up your car, turned it upside down and shook it, then got a rag and dried it up ... the tank that is ....

i'm suprised that your car started up. cause usually the car sucks up all the gunk that was at thebottom of the tank and clogs it. you have to wind up spending like $100-$200 bucks to the mechanic. but damn, i'm in jersey, n i'm still paying like 2.23 for 93 octane

Gas tank will only take 17 gals. why?

You can put in quite a bit after the pump clicks off if you have nothing better to do and take your time squeezing it in. Then you can come back and tell us you put 18.11 gallons in and you'd now have the record.

The reason for that is the excessive water in your gas tank, Water is taking some mass in there.
you need a big straw, and let your car run out of gas again, and suck out the extra water out of the gas tank.....

Quite frankly, I'm amazed you got 18.1 gallons in it. You may win an award for the highest volume put in a 4th Gen Max for a single fillup!
86maxima96 I'm a 4 and 5g guy so i can't speak for the rest of the generation, but on behalf of all 1995-2003 Maximas, they have 18.5G fuel tanks.

I just recently seafoamed the fuel tank, and always changed the fuel filter. So I dont think there is too much gunk in the tank.Originally Posted by ImmaSquashYou

Yeah I went about 13 miles out of the way for the cheapest gas station. So I got it at $2.099. Savings of about 20 cents a gallon. My wife wanted to kill me. The car started to lose power .5 miles to the gas station. I just managed to roll into the pump after the car broke down.
