I think the long block weighs around 180lbs or so. That means complete block and heads and pretty much nothing else. If you took off the accessories and drained all fluids then it will be pretty light for an engine of this size.

from the 3rd gen to the 4th gen, Nissan took off 90 lbs just from the engine alone.

385 pounds you gotta be kidding me.

Full VQ30DE with EVERYTHING in it weights 210 pounds (108 pounds lighter than the VG30 it replaced)

Full VQ35DE weights 175 pounds (35 pounds lighter than the VQ30 it replaces)

Me and my bro lifted the VQ30 out of the pickup without breaking our backs, and he weights like 135 lbs 210 pounds seems about right to me. Very easy to move around, especially the VQ35.

The VQ engine fully dressed(less AC compressor and upper intake mani. -maybe 15lbs) weighed 368lbs.

I weighed this engine on the scale we use for all of our shipments at work. This was a 97 VQ30DE.

I highly doubt me and my bro were able to lift 368 pounds.

Guys there is no way we picked up the engine that easily if it weights 350+ pounds. If the VQ30 really weighted 368 pounds that would mean that the VG30 weights 476 pounds, which is ridiculous. My dad's 7.5L 455 V8 weights that.

I stand by the 210 pound figure. I still have my VQ30DE lying around. I can weight it on a normal scale (goes up to 280 lbs) and I am 100% sure it won't max it out. The only thing missing from the motor is the EGR stuff, that's it.

It was bare but on a pallet, I subtracted the weight of the empty pallet too to be accurate.
The KA24DE (240sx engine, 4cyl) weighed 427 lbs.

if allen222 had the engine on a scale, why not believe him?
dont think he would lie.

and 368lbs might be too heavy for 1 person, but for 2 people it wont be a lot easier.
shoot, i bench 235lbs by myself.

WTF?? Cast isn't a metal. It's one way of forming metal parts.

The only way either of those numbers can be true is if you were weighing it with the tranny as well.
