Part of the problem is that the search function is disabled unless you donate.

Not a good idea. Those who will donate will donate anyway. The ability to search doesn't make anyone want to donate. Kindness of their hearts does.

I think the search function being enabled again would alleviate a lot of this.

There is a poor man's search created by Kevlo911. Even if the search function was enabled for everyone, i still strongly believe more than half would still post the same crap over and over.

Being a newbie, I'll bet a lot of it is other newbies who haven't figure out how to search on here, or who don't have the patience to read through a few pages of FAQ...

There were a number of brake posts, mainly calilper-related, awhile ago but that could just be spring-maintenance time. I get particularly incensed by being y-piped, gas priced and fuel economied to death.

There's the unbelievably fatal error right there. The FAQ's are there for a reason, so we're not bombarded with worthless threads. Even after being on the .org for some time, I can still look back and relearn a topic, and learn new stuff ALL THE TIME, even though I've read through it several times. My advice, look through it and become familiar with at least it's contents, because chances are if you know the topic you are searching for lies in the stickies, then you'll look there first, read up on it, and not even need to ask a question.

dont worry, the 4th gen section will be back to its regular topics of "what kind of intake should i get" and "check out the 100 pictures i just took of my stock max" soon enough.
