wow, look at this grille *pics*

i needed a new grille due to major paint chips and the overall bad condition my current grille is in. so i ordered an ebay "OEM style" grille from OEM quality parts...my ***. i dunno if i will keep it if i can get over this but it just kinda *isses me off how they would sell it like this.
anyways heres what it looks like when i got it.

of course, heres what its supose to look like:

is it the color that your worried about? since you have a black car, i dunno if either of them would have looked all that good. are you planning on painting it? or is it the indent where the burger emblem is supposed to go? it should still work, though... right?

yeh sorry for not being specific. the color is grey cause its a paintable grille. i will be gettin it professionally painted but my concern was the center part. theres no circular outline as the bottom one. eh may not seem a big deal but things like this kinda bugs me.

it may work out, but yeah, it definitely sucks when you don't get what you were expecting to get.

wow that is really different from oem. i had a non oem grille once, and i found that it was shorter than oem as well. i actually was planning a custom project where i would remove the circular part and have a straight bar...this grille actually looks perfect for this project.

well it is not OEM.......and it is not going to be the exact same thing.....you should have known that. I bought a Non-oem grill and am perfectly happy with it. It does not have the cicular part but i put the paradox-systems carbon fiber maxima emblem on it...

That sucks. Hopefully it works out for you. I can see it being a possible problem since there isn't very much surface to stick the logo on....

Fill that gap in (maybe with some bondo) and paint it. I think that would look good. Just a solid bar across the front...And you'd be the only one to have it.

I don't know... I was looking at my grille and trying to picture it w/o the "circle" part and it would seem strange just to have the emblem there w/o a backing. It would definitely work if fastened the right way and most people probably wouldn't notice it but YOU'D know it was [or wasn't] there and for a lot of people that's enough to hate something even as small as this...

It'll give your car a unique look. I'll even go furter by gutting out insert part with a dremel and leaving out just the H shell. It will definitely look awesome.

hey thanks for all the coments and opinions.

I did send a complain letter sayin they should readjust their website. Heres what they said:

"Hi, we checked our stock and the manufacturer changed the design. We did not know that this was the case.

You can either ship it back to us for a full refund or keep it and we will offer you a $5 discount on a future purchase.

Thank you,

Matt"

I am either gonna go w/ that straight bar, prob have a shop do it if i wanna, or just go w/ it, or return and get the correct one. But i know i saw at least 1 maxima owner w/ a straight bar grille, just can't remember who it was. it was blue...

it's really easy, you can't really mess it up especialy if you plan on painting the grill.

I was thinking of doing a custom grille project which had a straight bar, an offset 'nissan' emblem w/o burger, and the black fins removed and replaced with a flat stealth mesh:

Yeah, that's nice! I'd hit it. The straight bar and the off-center emblem look really nice. And you can't even see any of the "black bars/mesh."

Does anyone make anything like this? If so, where can I get it and where can I get the emblem to go w/ it?

if you guys want, i can possibly make something like that.

I'll just need to order some of those grills that g4nismo ordered from the guy on ebay and hope I get the "defective" ones.

I'll do it when I got some extra money laying around and some spare time.
