ECU- will manual work on automatic

I've got the chance to pick up a ECU from a 1997 i30 stick shift for free. Thing is I've got a 1996 Maxima automatic. Will it work ok?

Any particular reason you want to switch out ECUs? You planning on getting a JWT or Technosquare up grade?

Why would you want another stock ECU? Normally only reason would be if you had a '99 and wanted to got JWT or something

It's just that I can get it for free and I would hate to need one down the road. I have a bad habit of picking up small parts like sensors, injectors, fuse, bulbs, etc in the thought that they might come in handy later. It's not been too much of a problem since I have the space right now.

No, automatic works in manual cars but not vice versa.
