Antenna Replacement - Quick Question

Hey folks. I just changed my antenna because the power one looks kinda ugly when it is up but my question is where does the antenna wire run in the car to the head unit? In my trunk, it seems to disappear into oblivion.

Thank you!

I believe it goes (from the trunk side wall) up the pillar into the ceiling, back down the pillar, behind the dash, than to your head unit. well that was how it was on my VW... but it might go (from the trunk side wall) to the rear deck, under the rear seats, through the door sills, in to the dash, to your head unit... but yea.. it wouldn't be on your trunk lid or anything...

thanks kormax. However, before I have to dig too far, the replacement antenna I have does not come with a cord long enough to go through the roof and down the pillars, ect. So...(if anybody knows)..does that mean that the factory one has an extension that I can tap into or do I have to cut the factory cord and my current antenna cord and patch them together? Any suggestions would be appreciated to make the job as painless as possible.

The factory antenna wiring runs to the from the HU to the antenna motor assembly in near the scissor jack in your trunk... if you mounted your new antenna there, you might be able to patch into it there.

I don't know about extensions, but the cable does run up the rear right pillar past teh rear window and through the ceiling, I'm not sure how it is routed other than that, but it is. You should check in the qtr panel and see how the ant connects to the cable there.

What type of antenna did you get and what does it look like? I've always thought one of those shark fin antennas on the roof would be cool.
