Accident on tuesday
alright guys i was involved in a rear end accident on tuesday. the person i hit is perfectly fine. my maxima on the other hand is bad. i believe i need a new hood, bumper, support bar, new headlights, grille, and a radiator. so i took it to a place my insurance company works with. i got the estimate today and the guy said the estimate was $3388. what do u guys think. to me that is really high. that is how much my car is worth. so tell me what u guys have to say.
thanks

I was quoted 1000 for a new hood, 1200 for a new front bumer, 200 for the support bar, 100 for each headlight, 100 for the grille and 150 for the radiator. All prices include painting. The prices come from a reputable shop too. They were cheaper than most in my town but did the best work. They did all the local Nissan dealership's work when the cars were damaged for one reason or another.

That price is about right, I had the same damage except it wasn't my radiator but my windshield washer resevoir that busted and they had to fix the fenders too. I just paid my deductable and moved on; by the way, they offered to replace aftermarket parts, I had side markers, and fake hid bulbs and they wanted to know where I got them so they could replace them but at the time I was too upset to get into all that because they took a month and a half to fix it all (they said some of the parts weren't made anymore like the bumper light thingies that hold them in). They redrilled the holes in my fenders for my side markers, and reinstalled grill mesh I had on my grill and bumper. BTW the shop was right across the street from the dealer and they get stock pieces super cheap, I think on my receipt a new hood was like $50. They don't charge insurance or a paying customer that low though.

I had similar damage but the radiator was ok. They gave me 3000$. Me and my friend did body work and painting. He didnt want any money from me.
So to fix it I spent money only for parts 1500$ paint and beer another 200$

yea if your insurance is paying for it, what does it matter what body shop says it cost? on the other hand, if your doing it out of your pocket, you will be paying for the car you hit and your car as well... that would be dumb unless your rich and don't want your insurance to go up.
but if i were you, get the estimate, and get the check from your insurance company, than use that to repair it yourself. you'll have A LOT OF MONEY left over for extra stuff. and plus, things like cf hood would cost less than oem hood + paint and the works..
today my uncle took the car from the street and as he was pulling in the drive way, he crack the **** out of my skyline front bumper and scratched up one of my rims. i'm so pissed but he's paying for it..
i have no idea why he was doing that in the first place...
