Stock Plugs VS IRIDIUM Plugs

Does anyone have any experience with after market spark plugs? I am going to be replacing my plugs, and I am wondering if it would be worth replacing the stock plugs, with some IRIDIUM plugs - or whatever else.

They're about $13 over the stock plugs. So 6*13 = $78.00 more.

Are they worth it? If so, why? And what benefits are there? I'm still researching this, but any input would be greatly appreciated.
(Yes, posting on the forum is a form of research)

Stick with NGK platinum plugs or NGK coppers. Iridium are for boosted applications.

I have Iridium, no diff, basicly they last longer thats all, As for boost as far as i read copper are the best you just gotta replace them every oilchnage(if you want ur turbo to run its smoothest).

According to maxmods.dyndns.org, the NGK BKR5EIX-11 (Iridium) plugs are useful in nitrous and boosted applications and tend to last longer than copper. For a NA engine the coppers are BKR5E-11 and for boosted/nitrous they are BKR6E-11 and BKR7E-11.

Thanks for the input - Yeah, I'm going to go with the NGK copper plugs; the price is right, bob.

I'd like to add onto this post a little more. I'm looking to add higher performance spark plugs to my maxima. I was told by someone to buy Bosch. They are much cheaper than NGK's. The dealer told me that NGK plats were equivalent to stock. I really dont' want to spend about $80 on stock spark plugs. What do you recommend I should buy to get a little more kick out of my engine?

Avoid the Bosch plugs like the plague. They perform better in European cars. You have a choice: NGK or NGK, take your pick. The NGK plugs are OEM and are the best for the Maxima's performance. I still have my OEM platinum plugs in (58,700 mostly highway miles on them) and will likely replace them in kind, rather than going with NGK coppers.

i had some Denso Iridiums on my old 94 camry 4cyl. and i felt them to be very good, only tried them for a couple of months though cause i sold the car. Im gonna get Denso Iridium for the max and see how they work on it. The box says you dont have to change them out for 100,000 miles, and anything that i dont have to change for that long is good for me even if it doesnt add any additional hp.lol. the box also says that they will give about 3-5 hp, i wonder if anyones ever dynoed? NGK is a waay better choice than bosch though.
