Possible Problem?

Hola folks.
98 nissan maxima 99,000.00 miles

I just found the site on friday night and you folks have already saved my 500 dollars in labor with the great pictures and instructions. as an example There was a post called "name that leak" and SOB i had the same one. Ended up replacing the o ting on the Cam shaft position sensor and it's not leaked since. Now i have and issue that i just can't get my hands around. Here goes.

When i put the ignition to the on position with out starting a get a very load sound coming out of the "Idle air control valve" before i start the car ( i also can hear this when i turn the car off from a running state) . Once i start the car i don't hear it until i test on the highway. To test on the highway i was doing 40ish with the car in drive and the OD is the on posistion. Now i push my right foot to the floor and i hear a gargling sound from under the hood and it sounds like it's in the same area as this idle air control valve AT the same time the rpms go from the 2500 range to 5500-6000 and all i hear is noise i don't get any power until that gargle goes away. Before i go and replace this piece.. Could this piese be causing the Gargale and loss of power?

I'm tried to get the tranny to slip in either first or second and i can't. I was originall thinking it might be the tranny but the fluids are properly leveled and clean.

Any help would be greatly appreciated..

Thanks in Advance.

ahh hesitation, fun to diagnose.

I do'nt know if the sounds are related, but just do some normal maint.

Inspect/Change:
Spark plugs, fuel filter, clean TB, clean IACV valve (might want to replace its gasket too since you hear a wierd sound from it), etc.

I'd start by pulling the IACV valve and inspecting it to see if it works properly. Clean it out and put a new gasket on it and let us know.
