Question about BCM

I have a 97 GXE with sunroof and power seats, no auto a/c... I think I messed up my BCM while replacing a LED in the ignition switch, how can I reset the BCM I took out 2 of the 3 wire harnesses and still no diff., do I have to start the car while the harness is out? If I have to get a new BCM does it matter what year or trime the car is, or does it have to be a 97 GXE with sunroof etc...

try diconnecting the battery and hold down your brake to get all the power out of the system. then reconnect the battery and try to start the car again. if that doesn't work i can send you the other info out of my max fsm

I have the same problem as you. I brought it to the dealer and they 'd me. They couldn't find the exact problem, like wires or anything, but did trace it down to the BCM. It is a ~$900 part.

alpimax99 - Help me out too! You think that brake thing will work?

Erase the memory by CONSULT (refer to EL-170) or turn the ignition to “OFF” position and remove 7.5A fuse (No. 56 ,
located in the fuse and fusible link box).
