Tein basic question for those who have them installed...
Tein basic question for those who have them installed...
well ive finally made a decision to go with the Tein Basics..yes the Ksports are nice but 36 way adjustability is just too much for me...if I installed these then I would always be thinking that theres maybe a better setting that I would like more which would drive me crazy...........I like that the Tein basics are only height adjustable and they are pre-set to a fixed dampening level which leaves me only the decision of how low to set them................ so now that ive decided on the basics, I have a few questions for the people who have them installed..ive read that there are more parts needed to complete this install..the pillow mounts are optional from what ive read....I just want to know after I buy the Teins what else I need to purchase...I wanna get everything that is needed and then take the car to Tom up in northern New Jersey and have him install it all
.... any info on what else is needed to match with the teins is greatly appreciated...thanks guys!!

if you don't want your stock suspension to be taken apart then you will need to have the pillow mounts. if you've read any of the posts about the coilovers, you will know that the tein does not come with the pillow mounts $100-$200 easy. and the camber kit which most likely need after a big drop another $100 easy. about the setting thing, if you notice, tein also makes other types of coilovers instead of the basic. however, this is not the case for the 4th gen since they only make the basic. but tein makes the basic, super street, and the flex. the k-sport is exactly like the flex which is one of the best setups that tein offers. i'm not trying to say don't go to tom. but you can def do these yourself if you get the upper mounts n everything. otherwise i'd say it would be wise to go to tom since you will need to take parts off your stock suspesion which is a pain.
not to flame you, but i just can't believe you said you were going to go for the basics because i can't adjust them. you will wish that they would be adjustable after you take a corner and notice that your car either has understeer or oversteer. that is the only reason why they're adjustable. and also, with the coilovers tein basic has, it will not allow full shock travel which will cause your shock to blow faster.
anyhow, enjoy your ride with them, tein makes great stuff, but i just wished you had went with the k-sport since they are much much of a better deal. and i know that you will say that you will never take a corner that hard that you will need adjustment. but it being there is always a plus
