stabilizer bar link pin?

got my car inspected today. it passed. however the mechanic said that the reason my front end is squeeking over bumps is that my " stablizer link pin" is rusted/ needs replaced. anyone know what the item is? or where i could find it? the only picture i have of it is on 10-7 top/middle of page in the haynes manual. thanks in advance

I had one of these break, caused lots of squeeking and iffy handeling. They are End Links or Sway Bar End links. These cost me about $60 with bushings and all. Easy job just takes time to get all the rusted bolts off. Are you going to fix this yourself?

that must be the same problem i have, because my front end is all over the road, and it chirps real bad over bumps. do you happen to know where to get them? my mechanic said that a nissan dealer will charge like 100 bucks for it. id like to attempt it myself, but i could always just take it somewhere. wish i had a diagram of the area that the part is in. thanks for the info.

The dealer charged me $20 per link so I was like pfff! I'll get them both! Also 4 bushings(2 on each side) with the Swaybar end links cost me about $60 at the dealer. I re-used the nuts on each side. Just take the tire off and they are right there. The link is what connects the swaybar to the control arm. Spray some Liquid Wrench or PB Blaster on the bolts to make it easier. WD40 is useless. At times I needed to use a couple of wrenches at the same time to get bolts off. You will need to loosen the swaybar/two bolts attatching it to the frame on each side so you can twist it out of the way. One important note is that at the end of the job when the links are on and tight leave the swaybar loose until the car is lowered back down, bounce the front end a couple of times and then tighten the swaybar up to the frame with normal weight on the wheels(at ride height).

Some of the sockets that will be needed will need to be the deeper ones because some of the bolts stick up a ways. I'm not sure exactly what sizes they are right now.

It would be best to do both sides at once.
