Happened to a friend of mine. It could be the solenoid but check the drop resistor first (mounted beside driver's side strut tower). If that's gone it'll likely throw the same code and it's way easier to change the resistor as opposed to dropping the tranny pan and pulling the valve body out.

What?! Yikes. The drop resistor was like $50. The solenoid assembly around $300, I forget the exact amount. If you're lucky, it'll just be the resistor and you can change that yourself in 10 minutes. It's basically just undo a connector and plug the new one in.

You can buy the solenoids for like a 150.00+ hell i have a extra set of brand new ones i will sell ya, for 100.00. All you have to do is drop the pan and there right there. It is alot cheaper to do this yourself than take it to the dealership.

All you need to do to check the drop resistor is measure the resistance of it with a multimeter. It should be between 11.2 to 12.8 ohms, as per the FSM. If it's bad it'll likely be MUCH higher (ie-several orders of magnitude).
